West Ham Thin on the Ground

Alan Curbishley has confirmed that West Ham have accepted an offer for Anton Ferdinand and that if he leaves West Ham will have a weak squad,

"The board have accepted the bid - he's not renegotiated his contract - and the decision was taken out of my hands. I don't know where Anton is in terms of signing for Sunderland - but once the club accept the bid it moves on. We are thin on the ground. If we lose another defender we will have to react to that."

anton leaving makes sense to me as we will be left with

mccartney upson neil berahmi

then if collins gets fit the defensive line will be ok again

You've seen Behrami and Neil play, I presume. I would be amazed if have seen either play well - certainly not in the same game.

Another flaw in your plans - McCartney and Collins aren't actually fit. Not sure if Neil is in the classic sense - he certainly can't run. Not sure if getting £8m for Ferdinand is good business if we actually get relegated or finish in the bottom 6.

Paul Anderson.
