McCartney Back for West Ham

The Daily Mail say that George McCartney will be fit for West Ham's Sunday game. McCartney picked up an ankle injury in West Ham's 5-0 thrashing of Derby which has kept him out of the Northern Ireland squad but the Mail say he has made good progress and will have recovered by the weekend.

The People say West Ham are after Liverpool defender Jack Hobbs. They claim West Ham scouts watched Hobbs in the reserves last week and will swoop if Benitez keeps overlooking him.

Hobbs has hardly figured since signing from Lincoln and could slip further down the pecking order if a new defender arrives in January.
