West Ham 1 Bolton 3

With a chance to go top of the league (if only for a short time) West Ham put in a pretty abject performance this afternoon.

Bolton started the stronger of the two sides. After 25 minutes however West Ham started to take control of the game but then two howlers from Green in the space of five minutes gave Bolton a 2-0 lead. The first was a complete cock up by Green who went to catch a ball unchallenged and just dropped the ball at Davies' feet for an open goal. For the second Green managed to get down well to save a Steinsson's shot but he couldn't hold onto the ball and Cahill had an easy tap in.

In the second half West Ham had a flicker of a hope after Cole managed to head home a corner in the 68th minute. In the 86th minute however Taylor struck an amazing 30 yard free-kick to restore Bolton's two goal lead.

Overall this was a pretty abject performance from West Ham. For me only Ilunga of the West Ham players came out of the game with any credit.
