Stoke Cheat Their Way to Wembley

Everyone seems to have had a go at the refereeing in yesterday's Stoke vs West Ham semi-final from Avram Grant to Scott Parker.

Most ridiculously Tony Pulis has once again laid into a referee after a game, claiming that Stoke are nearly always the victims of bad decisions. The hypocrisy of Pulis moaning about refereeing decisions is astounding. Especially as Stoke obviously practise how to foul the opposition at set pieces and every week he sends his teams out to basically cheat their way to victory.

I think there is a difference between Piquionne's handball and Stoke's continual fouling at set pieces. Piquionne's handball was done in the heat of the moment. Whereas Stoke obviously spend hours in training practising how to obstruct the opposition at set pieces.

Piquionne's goal shouldn't have stood. But Upson was obstructed for Stoke's first goal and Spector was pulled out of the wall and thrown to the ground for Stoke's second.

I don't think West Ham did enough to deserve to win yesterday's game. But if I was a Stoke fan I would be extremely embarrassed today to support such an anti-football side.

Pulis seems to have gone to school with that other short sighted manager, Warnock. If they get beaten in the next round we will probably have to pay compensation due to the problems they have sufferred by drawing attention to their antics by allowing our players fall to the ground so heavily.

To be fair to them, they lined up with two fast, pacey wingers to get at us and caused all sorts of problems that way too.

Is it any wonder they have to give a whole stand to away fans? Who would pay to watch their anti-football? Yeah fair point Etherington and Pennant played pretty well but neither created their goals in the end, and how was Tuncay not getting into their starting eleven before he left? Because he is skillful rather than a big and quick. Would love to see them go down.

To be fair to us,we caused Stoke all sorts of problems

1. Obinna forced a great save.

2. Keane forced a good save.

3. Upson hit the post.

How much did Stoke create from open play ? not a lot.

What exactly was Pulis moaning about??

Ok- Piq's goal shud not have stood.

But Etherington's DIVE was NEVER A PENALTY. In fact Etherington shud have been booked.

And Tomkins being thrown down in the box by Walters was a CAST IRON PENALTY.

So Pulis can shove it up his god-forsaken prostate,as he was on the receiving end of several positive decisions that he didn't deserve.

Stop moaning Pulis ,and have a word with your lowlife away suporters who attack isolated individual west ham supporters in bands of 30.

TOTAL COWARDS. AN EMBARRASSMENT TO ENGLISH FOOTBALL

I think you're all missing a trick. You could learn a lot from Stoke. Grafting out a win is how Stoke have avoided being in the position West Ham are in. Okay you can moan about the ethics but the fact is the FA are not knocking on Pulis' door slapping fines and injunctions because of how they choose to play, so as long as the fans continue to pay (which they do, as the Brit is packed to the rafters every game) Stoke have every right to play in their own style. In fact relying on Scott Parker so heavily for your success is a far less effective way of achieving your goals, be it cup success or league safety, proven by each club's respective position. At the end of the day the only result that matters is the result at the final whistle which speaks for itself. Moaning about what could have been with referee decisions can only be sour grapes.

Some sour grapes on here from Hammers fans me thinks.Glen Whelan and John Walters dealt with Scott Parker, take him out of the midfield and it all goes pearshaped! Penalty on Upson or not, take away the blatant hand ball by Piquionne and you still had to score the penalty and Stoke would still have won. Check out the stats, think you'll find West ham commited a lot more fouls than Stoke.
Have to admit, Parker is a great player, but he don't half whinge when things aint going his way. Fantastic ball through to Piquionne from Hitzelsperger but if he had not handballed it, the ball would have gone past him. Stoke won, get over it, move on you have bigger fish to fry in trying to stay in the Prem.
