According to the
BBC West Ham have signed Sunderland defender George McCartney for four years.
There is no mention of a fee or the rumoured part exchange, with Clive Clarke moving in the opposite direction. West Ham have paid £600,000 plus Clarke to secure the services of the 25-year-old left-back, who progressed through the youth ranks at the Stadium of Light to become club captain.
The Northern Ireland international is injured for at least another ten weeks so the signing is a gamble by West Ham on McCartney recovering fitness.
This news has
yet to be been confirmed by the club.
