Eggy Stands Down As Executive Chairman

Today West Ham made an official statement saying that Eggert Magnusson has stood down as Executive Chairman. Eggert Magnusson will remain chairman of the club but in a non-executive capacity. Magnusson today said,

"I have enjoyed my time as Executive Chairman but feel the moment is right to stand back a little as we move into a new and exciting period."

The official statement talks about strengthening the management team to support the West Ham's owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson. This seems to be a bloodless revolution, which keeps Eggert Magnusson in place as the public face of the club whilst strengthening Gudmundsson's direct control of the club.
