West Ham's Silent Assassin Faces the Knife

West Ham's top goal scorer Lee Bowyer is set to undergo an operation on a groin injury. Bowyer has been playing with the injury for a while but with West Ham's other injury problems he has been forced to play through the pain. Alan Curbishley said after today's game,

"He has been playing with a bit of a problem. He's going to have an operation on Tuesday. We've been delaying it, waiting for one or two of the others to get back.

He's been playing with a groin strain so he's got to have that sorted out. But he has signed off with two vital goals."
