West Ham Announcement Soon

Sunderland have confirmed that George McCartney has signed a five-year contract with the Black Cats for the usual 'undisclosed fee'.

West Ham are due to make an official announcement some time after midnight. Kumb are suggesting that Chelsea's Portuguese full-back Paulo Ferreira will probably have agreed some kind of deal with West Ham (possibly a loan).

Kumb also report that there are rumours that an announcement over the the Sheffield United arbitration case may also be forthcoming. If true I assume that means West Ham have been stung with a huge fine and there has been an agreement to keep it quiet until after the transfer window closed.

There is no news about Ferreira anywhere else. Sure it wont happen.

Meanwhile we sell everyone to pay sheff Utd. Great, Should have gone to court and fought them. They had no case.

If West Ham have been stung with a huge fine, the flip side would be that Sheffield United would have money to burn. There is no evidence of them spending significant sums.

On the other hand its quite possible that West Ham will blame the uncertainty over the outcome for their lack of activity on their part ( selling of players excepted).

So, Ferdinand left because he wouldn't sign a new contract, McCartney because he did, Green's pay stays unaltered because the club want to hold him to his existing contract. Yes, I can follow the line of thinking here.

Lets see what joy today brings.

Paul Anderson.
