West Ham Sale Moves Closer

The Independent say that the sale of West Ham has been boosted now that the club has been advised that the compensation to be paid to Sheffield United over the Carlos Tevez affair is unlikely to be more than £10m.

The Independent say that Gudmundsson is expected to include a commitment to cover the cost of the Tevez case in any deal with potential buyers of the club.

West Ham and Sheffield Utd are due to meet an arbitration panel in March next year but The Independent says discussions are already under way on the amount of compensation and the clubs are moving towards an out-of-court settlement.

West Ham maintain that the true value of losses suffered by Sheffield Utd is somewhere between £5m and £10m. Not the £50 million being banded about by the northern club.
