West Ham started with the same side that started midweek at Portsmouth. The first half was a dull affair with very few chances for either side.
Blackburn relied on their usual dull fare of pumping the ball long at every opportunity and using long throw-ins into the area. West Ham played their usual game of neat football with no penetration. The effect being that there was only one shot a piece in the whole first half.
Blackburn came closest in the 42nd minute from a free-kick five yards outside the West Ham area and central. Pedersen took the kick and had Green beaten only to see his shot rebound back off the bar. West Ham's shot also came from a free-kick from out wide on the right wing. Diamanti took the kick and surprised no-one by going for goal when a cross was the better option. The ball flew straight to Robinson in goal.
The second half wasn't much better than the first but at least there were a few more efforts at goal.
Blackburn probably had the better chances to score. In the 73rd minute Olsen forced a good save from Green, at the expense of a corner, from the edge of the area. From the corner Cole then cleared off the line from a Givet shot from six yards. In the 76th minute Roberts beat Tomkins on the edge of the area and shot from about the penalty spot, forcing a save from Green.
West Ham's best effort of the half came from a Diamanti free-kick. His 30 yards effort was dipping under the crossbar forcing Robinson to tip the ball over. From the corner Collison had a shot from 12 yards that was deflected wide.
In all honesty West Ham never looked like winning this game. The only real positive note was the return of Cole and Parker.

We never looked like winning this game because of our usless management team STILL playing 451. We have struggled all season with 451 & 433. FFS we need to play 442. We have had the players to play this way all season regardless of injuries. I've lost faith in GFZ & Clark, we will go down if they continue to play this awful negative brand of football & just think how much stick Curbs got & we were no way a boring/terible/negative under him.
Another 2pts lost. If the clubs REALLY wants to stay in the Premiership it HAS TO WIN these sort of games!!
Just wanna say best wishes to Faubert whos mother sadly passed just before the Blackburn game. Playing on really showed the west ham faithful that, although not the best player in the world, he battles his heart out and gives 100% in each game. Qualities we should be proud of to watch every saturday.
Sky are saying we are after Llan. Might be something in it, he has just been deleted from the St Etienne website!
maybe should of put cole and parker on at half time, also stanislas would have helped on the left flank.
I didn't know about Faubert's mother. I thought he got a few decent crosses in yesterday and had a good game, especially under those circumstances.
