Tony Carr MBE

Tony Carr has been has been awarded an MBE in honour for his services to football. Carr first heard of the award a day after his testimonial game.

"The letter dropped through my door the day after the testimonial," said Carr. "The morning afterwards, there it was. It just said 'you have been nominated for an MBE, having been recommended by the Prime Minister's office for the Queen to consider'.

"It is very humbling to think that you have been recognised by the establishment. It won't change me but I am so grateful. I also have to thank a lot of people for their part in my career. Certainly if it wasn't for John Lyall, I might never have been interested in coaching."

Something tells me that after tonight's howler there won't be any awards in the post for Robert Green any time soon.

In fact it is probably safe to assume that Green is going to have a hard time of it on the road next season with opposing fans. Green is a big enough man to take the inevitable stick on the chin and I'm still hoping that those performances are going to be in a West Ham shirt.

And people still question why Green shud be sold?

That said the UK media do nothing to help matters by slaughtering the guy. Same old UK gutter football press. Dumb ,unclever ,and antagonizing their own players and supporters. UK sports journalists- proper excrement. Worse than than ION Dale ,and that takes some doing.

The blame should be shared equally amongst the rest of the team. Not just saying it coz he's our keeper -its' not like he cocked up with two mins to go. They had plenty of time to overrun the yanks and thrash them. yet again ineffective. Great players - crap team. as for the rubbish rags why is anyone surprised ? think about the shit they have been writing about WHU over the last four years - the answer? don't give them your money stop buying their rags.

A great honour for Tony Carr well deserved perhaps he should be in South Africa as he understands what makes a players tick and understands the game.
As for Rob Green the poor guy made one mistake its a shame it detracted from the fact that England were very poor and once again our so called world class players did not perform!!!
We should have buried the USA.
I have said it loads of times the players believe in the press and thier own hype they are just not as good as we and they think.
