Avram Grant Banned for Two Games

The FA has handed West Ham manager Avram Grant a two-match touchline ban and a £6,000 fine for comments he made about referee Mike Jones after the Stoke game.

The ban takes immediate effect, which means Grant will have to watch the Bolton and Aston Villa games from the stands.

In other news the BBC report that West Ham are investigating a report that the families of Victor Obinna and Frederic Piquionne were racially abused by fans at Upton Park on Saturday.

An official statement on the club website says that West Ham are "with the police ... reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness information."

If you can't say whay you think without getting fined then it's about time managers stopped giving media interviews.

Exactly right- 2.58. We live in a democracy, based on freedom of speech . It is totally unaccpetable that the FA has teh ability to prevent managers from expressing their opinion. It is high time for a manager to take the FA to the High Court or the European Court of Justice. The Football Association is an inept organization that has done great harm to the sport ,as opposed to having moved the sport forward. It is only a matter of time before the FA is sued for a very large amount of money. And deservedly so. You don't like it FA -
tough excrement. 07768 899606

If it is true that Obinna and Piquionne's families were racially abused, those responsible should be given lifetime bans. West Ham has enough problems as it is without the club's reputation being further damaged by racist scum. It will make it very hard to attract players of any quality to the club in the future, and certainly give these two players every incentive to leave even if we do stay up. Neither of these two players have done enough to help push us up the table. But neither they nor their families should be subject to racist abuse.

The scum behind this do great damage to the club. If there were not laws against it,I would personally beat these racists to a pulp. And then dump them in the Thames where they belong. Scum like this are not only unfit to wear the West Ham shirt, they are unfit to exist in civilized society.

Totally agree with 2:58. What all the managers should do is either refuse to talk to the TV after games (they can afford it) or just give simple, yes, no, dont know answers. Once the TV companies get fed up with crap interviews with no scandel, they will bash the FA and PL to change or take the money elsewhere.
