Barrera Shines in Mexico Win

Pablo Barrera has had a lot of stick from West Ham fans. From the little I've seen of Barrera I have thought that he looks promising. This last season Grant seemed to play him out of position, which I don't think helped his game.

Yesterday Pablo Barrera scored two goals in the CONCACAF Gold Cup as Mexico beat the USA 4-2. By all accounts Barrera had a very impressive tournament. The question is can he perform in the Championship.

The Daily Star claim that West Ham are set to win the race to sign Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith.

He certainly was not og a standard to be in the Premiership. As for the Championshiop one would hope so,but it is debatable. He consistently wasted opportunities to take decent shots on goal when the chances arose. Blaming his under-performance on where or how Grant played him is no excuse. He was simply too young, too weak physically, and too inexperienced to survive in the Premier League. He is perfect proof of why it is foolish to buy very young players on the strength of a couple World Cup performances.

But Grant did it not just once, but twice,as Reid was equally inexperienced. If we could get a more experienced, physically stronger player in his place,we would be better off selling Barrera for a decent fee,if that is possible.

I agree with him ^^. Selling Barrera would be the best. Im a Mexican fan ever since they won the World Cup U17 in 2005. And as a fan i think Barrera would be better in a different club with a better coach and maybe in a different League. Zaragoza has shown a lot of interest but cant really afford him. Aguirre (Zaragoza's coach & Mexico's 2010 WC coach) would bring the best out of him. But he is negotiating him in a loan. I think this is a great idea, If barrera goes to zaragoza, Aguirre will bring the best out of him. Then Westham could choice to bring him back (now with more European experience) or sell him.

As a West Ham fan from the USA, i was really shocked to see him have any impact on a game. I've been under the impression that he was a waste of talent. I guess I'm willing to give him a shot, a year in the Championship could be what he needs. I just wish he had his coming out party against somebody else.

Harsh harsh comments. A great PROSPECT and Grant did something right use younger players. Noble was my player of the season Sears was brilliant and Ruud Boffin in his appearance also had a great match
look to the future lads the future is ours
