Is Cole Staying?
The big news today is that West Ham have not signed Eidur Gudjohnsen. Gudjohnsen passed a medical on Friday and looked all set to sign for West Ham.
Sam Allardyce says the decision was West Ham's because Eidur was taking too long making up his mind,
"The bottom line was that for me, Eidur had enough time to make a decision. The time I gave him elapsed so instead of us sitting and waiting for him, I decided from my point of view that it was better to call the deal off."
However the KUMB forums on Saturday were full of rumours that Gudjohnsen had rejected West Ham to sign for AEK Athens.
There is a also a third possibility. After Carlton Cole couldn't agree personal terms with Stoke, West Ham might just have decided they can't afford to sign another forward. This could mean that West Ham have decided not to try and offload Cole.
I certainly hope so. Personally I'd much prefer to see Cole at West Ham than Gudjohnsen.

Exactly right. I'd take Cole all day long over an overweight,past-it foreign mercenary. Gudjohnsen can sod the funk off. He never ,not before,nor now,had ANY real interest in playing for West Ham unless he received obscene ,over-the-top wages.
Gudjohnsen is a first class effing bunt. A total scumbucket who is unfit for purpose.
As for Cole, obviously the guy has been a huge disappointment for the last year and a half. But as Zola did,perhaps Allardyce can give him some self-belief to get him playing to his potential again. And perhaps Allardyce can also give him the kick up the rear he needs,which Grant never managed to do. If Cole truly wants to stay and help the club get promoted ,it might not be such a bad idea to keep him. Allardyce won't tolerate freeloaders,so if he doesn't give 100 per cent, then he can still be sold at the end of August,or in January. But it certainly beats employing a piece of filth like Gudjohnsen

Hopefully big sam can get some aggression into cole's game, same as he did kevin davies.... cole needs to start bullying defenders abit more.
Ive been saying these type of things for the last 2/3months any player can change by having a much more experienced manager and Allerdyce is a better manager than Grant so expect a much improved performance not only from Cole but the rest of the squad Carn The Hammer Back To The PREMIER LEAGUE We Go
Rumour that Anton could be on his way back to west Ham now! Not sure on this but we could do alot worse.
