Wigan vs West Ham - Preview

After consecutive league defeats West Ham will hope that they can take heart from Monday's excellent display and recapture their previous league form. Wigan away will be a tough game but West Ham, in tenth place in the league, are only three points behind the Latics, and have a game in hand. This match therefore provides a good opportunity to leapfrog one of our closest league rivals.

Team News For West Ham Anton Ferdinand is a doubt because of the thigh injury that kept him out of the City game. For Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt and Ryan Taylor are both out.

Other News Young forward Petr Mikolanda will leave West Ham at the end of the season. The 21-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer with a reputation as being one for the future, yet he has failed to settle at Upton Park and his contract will not be renewed. Mikolanda responding to the news has been realisitic about his chances at Upton Park,

"I understand why, they have five great strikers at the club and there's simply no room for me and it won't get better in the summer.

Crystal Palace have reportedly handed a trial to West Ham striker Teddy Sheringham's 18-year-old son Charlie.
