Mascherano Claims They Are Staying

Mascherano, who looks likely to start in tomorrow's game, claims that he and Tevez are not using West Ham as a shop window in order to impress European clubs,

"We are fully committed to West Ham and we don't see this move as a stop over to any other club as it was said at some point.

I know West Ham produced many of the players that currently play for England and that the gaffer had a big influence on the current good form of the club thanks to his strong personality. I know about its long history and some of the trophies they have won and I always knew about its youth scheme that produced so many world-class players.

Both of us had the final say about coming here and we both discussed how firm the West Ham offer was. At the end of the day that's what counted for us.

West Ham showed a true desire to sign us and that's what mattered."
