Benayoun Hoping for Liverpool Bid

The Independent says that Yossi Benayoun has stalled on signing a new contract with West Ham because he is hoping that Liverpool will bid for him. Despite having agreed a new contract with West Ham in principle, that sees his wages double, the paper claims he still expects Benitez to make a move for him before the end of the week.

The paper also points out however that Liverpool are unlikely to meet West Ham's £5 million evaluation of the midfielder.
