West Ham in Defoe Bid?

Iain Dale over at West Ham Till I Die has posted a rumour that West Ham have made a sizeable bid for Jermain Defoe. Defoe has been linked with West Ham for much of the close season and now that Sp~@rs have signed Bent and Defoe has moved down to fourth in the pecking order of strikers these rumours are likely to grow.
