Real Madrid or Barcelona Striker?

With wild internet rumours that say Eidur Gudjohnsen is set to sign for West Ham, The Daily Mail claim that West Ham have actually made an enquiry about Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano.

Cassano has the dubious of honour of contributing a new word 'cassanata' to the Italian language. The word means 'behaviour incompatible with team spirit in football'. Cassano had a tubulent relationship with a succession of Roma mangers until the club finally sold him to Real Madrid (apparently he didn't say goodbye to any of his team mates at Roma). At Real Madrid he has been unable to gain a regular place in the first team.

Cassano's erratic and anti-social behaviour continued, and his expanding waistline due to a weakness for junk food led in May 2006 to Real Madrid fining him for every gram he remained overweight.

He sounds just the kind of player Curbishley favours and should fit in well in the weigh in room changing room at West Ham.
