West Ham Sign Kieron Dyer

The West Ham website have confirmed that West Ham have finally signed Kieron Dyer. In a very short statement the site says,

"Newcastle United and West Ham have agreed terms and the transfer of Kieron Dyer to West Ham has now been concluded."

The BBC are reporting the deal is "believed to be in the region of £6m", which would be little strange as that is the sum that was originally agreed and then Newcastle thought was not enough. Reports yesterday suggested an initial fee of £6 million with another million dependent on appearances.

Alan Curbishley has welcomed West Ham's latest signing,

"We are delighted to get the player in. If you look at his history over the last couple of years he missed a lot of games with his hamstring - but once he got it sorted, he played 33 games and scored eight goals.

"He also played for England against Spain, Brazil and Andorra - so he is a current England international, and we are delighted to have him on board."
