Mourinho Quits

Non-West Ham I know, but Jose Mourinho has become the first manager to part company with his club in the Premier League this season leaving Chelsea last night. It is widely being reported that he quit the job but the Chelsea website says he left by mutual consent so he may well have been sacked.

Avram Grant, recruited in the summer as director of football at Chelsea, is expected to take charge of the side for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United. There are strong rumours saying that he will be named as the permanent new manager of Chelsea this afternoon with Steve Clark named as his assistant.

Already there are rumours linking him with the manager's job at Sp@~rs. However these rumours are just leading from the continuing speculation over Jol's position and Mourinho is likely to be sought by some of the major European clubs.
