West Ham in the Sunday Papers

The Observer confirm the rumours that West Ham are looking for a technical director. They say that Curbs is involved in deciding the job description of the new role. The technical director will be 'responsible for all matters below the first team' according to a senior club source.

The club want a multi-linguist with good contacts throughout Europe and especially in the eastern Europe.

The Observer also say there is still a chance of West Ham moving into the Olympic Stadium,

'There is still a chance of that happening because there is a split among the responsible authorities,' said an executive at the ODA, the body responsible for delivering the infrastructure of the London Games.

Also, Mark Noble has taken over from Carlos Tevez as the hero of Upton Park. Noble would have stayed at West Ham even if relegated and his attitude and all-action performances have led to his shirt being the top seller in the club shop.

The People take a different stance on the news of West Ham's decision to appoint a technical director. Saying Curb's should watch out for his job.

The People also say that Sp~@s want to buy Luis Boa Morte for £1.5 million. (If true West Ham should agree but only in part exchange for Gareth Bale). And that West Ham want Wayne Bridge.

The Daily Star says Rob Green thinks he is the best goalkeeper in England,

"I have to believe I am the best keeper in England I have had the opportunity to establish myself at Norwich City and at West Ham but not with England.

I have stepped up from last season. All I can do is work hard and play well".
