Curbs Blasts Anton, Anton Scores

West Ham manager Alan Curbishley revealed in his post-match comments that he was especially pleased with Anton Ferdinand's winner as the defender had borne the brunt of his anger at Fulham's early goal.

"Anton was the one that copped it at half-time. I wasn't happy with the way we started. They came out second half determined to put it right," said Curbishley.

Curbishley also took time out to praise striker Dean Ashton,

"We feel that if we can give Dean the chances, he will take them," said Curbishley. "He is a really good finisher. Niemi has made a fantastic save from another one of his efforts. It is just a question of him getting a bit sharper and us playing a bit better to create some chances."
