West Ham Review

Whilst West Ham's performance yesterday impressed the fans the journalists seem to be more interested in City's lacklustre performance. In fact you were be hard pressed to guess that West Ham were the opposition in some of today's reports as the papers concentrate on City rather than the Hammers.

Where West Ham are mentioned Mark Noble seems to have caught the eye. The Guardian say Mark Noble was 'impressive' and awarded him their man of the match. For The Daily Telegraph 'Freddie Ljungberg constantly menaced down the West Ham right' and 'there were intricate touches from ... Noble' but they named Carlton Cole as their man of the match.

The Daily Mail believe 'Hart rescued City' and that 'Faubert posed an immediate threat when he replaced Boa Morte 20 minutes from time.' The Times say West Ham have been the better team in each of the three recent clashes between the two teams. They also believe Hart saved City yesterday and that Noble "may be forcing himself into Capello’s long-term plans."
