West Ham vs Liverpool

This is fixture of real significance for both teams. If Liverpool win they regain fourth spot in the league. If West Ham win they will close the gap on the European qualifying places,

According to the official site the game will be too soon for Danny Gabbidon, Nobby Solano and Craig Bellamy but I still have a suspicion that Bellamy just might make the bench. Matthew Etherington and Dean Ashton have both been back in training so should be in the squad but Julien Faubert has a slight calf strain and is doubtful.

Mascherano is suspended so won't play against his old club. Andriy Voronin, Alvaro Arbeloa and Daniel Agger will also miss the game but through injury. New signing Slovakia centre-back Martin Skrte made his début at the weekend and may keep his place in the first team.

The BBC had Mark Lawrenson down as saying West Ham would win this one 2-1 yesterday. This has since been changed to a 1-2 loss. Someone needs to point out to him that Liverpool haven't won one of their last five league games whilst West Ham have won two and drawn two against tougher opposition.
