West Ham to Continue With Youth

Alan Curbishley says he will continue to play some of the younger players, as long as West Ham remain above Sp@~s.

“I appreciate everybody's position - they want to finish as high as they can, but I've got to think about the club as well,” Curbishley said. “I've got to mix and match a little bit. For me, it's obviously the bigger picture. I've got no doubts about putting some of them [younger players] in. But it all depends if Tottenham go above us, I suppose.”

“Every game and every point is vital, but at some stage, if they are good enough, you have got to give them a go..They bring enthusiasm and want to do well. You can see the strength of the squad.”

If they re contributing ,then they deserve to play on merit. certainly the case with Sears ,even if it s just 30 minutes a match. Despite Tomkins error for Yakubu s goal,he certainly didn t look out of place the rest of the match. Should give Ferdinand a thing or two to think about once Upson gets back.

Must be the main aim to finish above T*ttenham. Would establish West Ham as No. 3 in London!!! Freddie Ljungberg said it was still poosible to qualify for "Europe". I think that's ridiculous, West Ham would have to finish 5th. But the team MUST finish above Sp@rs, that's for sure!

why use a team lower down on the table as your benchmark? would it not be more competitive to use Everton or Liverpool? perhaps i just didn’t understand his statement, but i do wonder if the Spurs should drop some points and slide down the table unexpectedly, will he be content to just stay static for the rest of the season.
