Boa Morte Not Happy at West Ham

It looks like Boa Morte could be one of the players out of the door in the summer. The News of the World quote Boa Morte as saying,

"I've got another two years on my contract. I can't say I'm completely happy at West Ham. In the end we'll see."

Which doesn't sound like the sort of thing someone staying at the club would say. Of course the quote could have been taken slightly out of context. He might well have been asked something about whether he was happy with the way the West Ham fans have reacted to him this season.

More to the point - who will pay a transfer fee and maintain his salary to take him off our hands. I can't see a large queue forming. H emay be unhappy, but unhappy enough to volunteer a pay cut!

You can t blame the player, given the way he s been treated by West Ham supporters. Whether he earns a good wage or not, he probably feels he doesn t need the booing. There are times this season when ,like anyone else ,I ve been disappointed with his performances and attitude, but there have also been times when he s contributed very positively.

In the end, life is short, and whether the comment was taken out of context or not,the door has been opened now for a move. I m a bit surprised that he didn t wait until the final game had been played before saying what he did, but it may be to the benefit of all concerned that he moves on. I think when he s on form and motivated, and when he s able to avoid unnecessary fouls ,he remains a very useful player. But if he s not happy, which is understandable, and given the inconsistency of his peformances, then it does make sense for the club to sell him if it can do so for a reasonable price. It s ashame it s turned out this way,but with all the booing it was almost inevitable.

Cant blame the payer? why not. he has acted like a petulant child all season and then is shocked that the fans are not happy with him.

Maybe it was a bit harsh at times, and the fans may have been better backing him that berrating him to get a positive response, but the fans are paying good money to see the players play, not act like children. If they chose to they make their bed that then has to be lied in!!
