West Ham Bid for Diego Confirmed

Antonio Fiuza president of Gil Vicente claims the club are negotiating with West Ham for the transfer of 26 year old centre back Diego Gaucho.

Portuguese sources claim the move could initially be on loan from August with a view to a permanent deal for the Brazil-born defender, who is hoping to complete the process of becoming a European citizen.

Coincidently Gil Vicente are managed by Paulo Alves who made four substitute appearances for West Ham on loan to the club in 1998.
