This game said a lot about how far away we are from where we need to be. Sure, it didn t help that Ashton picked up an injury whilst scoring,but it s no excuse.
To go into halftime down 3-1,but with a one man advantage ,meant that we had an opportunity to get back into the match. But we created virtually nothing with the one man advantage.
How do you concede another goal to a team playing a man down, with no Rooney or Vidic? How do go 45 plus minutes without ever really threatening the other team s goal when you are playing with 11 against their 10? How do you show as little ambition as we did ?
Our lack of urgency was embarrasing, and showed the limitations of this manager.
