West Ham Keeper Targeted by Villa

The Guardian claim that West Ham's Robert Green is being targeted by Aston Villa following Scott Carson's return to Liverpool at the end of last season.

The Guardian claim that Green is "likely to command a fee in the region of £6m". Somehow I think it would take a lot more than that to prise Green away from West Ham.

It's interesting to note that both Villa and Sp#rs have been rumoured to have targeted Robert Green. Villa have been playing Carson, and Spurs, Robinson, both keepers who have been preferred ahead of Green in the England Squad. Makes one think that the Goalkeeping coaches at these clubs know a thing or two more about more about it than the England set up - Capello the Clown and Clements.

With Liverpool keen on Gareth Barry and Villa needing a keeper it surprises me non of these lazy hacks have suggested the Barry deal would involve Carson returning to Villa. Perhaps it's just better to undermine the West Ham squad than think it through.

Agree that 6 million is nowhere near the fee that Green wud command. More importantly, failing to hold onto Green wud send precisely the wromg message to our players and supporters ,and to the league in general. It wud signify that WHU are going nowhere and have no more ambition than was the case under Terry Brown. It wud be a colossal mistake. I hope the owner is smart enough to know that .
