Boro vs West Ham - The Reviews

The Sunday papers seem in agreement that West Ham dominated two-thirds of yesterday's game but in the end paid for not adding a second goal to Mullins' superb strike.

The Daily Mail say Boro were second-best for two-thirds of the game. They say Mullins scored 'a super volley'.

The Telegraph claim that Ross Turnbull pulled off some key saves to deny West Ham United a victory. "Inspired by the pace and direct running of feisty front pairing Craig Bellamy and Freddie Sears, the visitors dominated the first half and should have had more than a 21st minute Hayden Mullins strike to show for their overwhelming dominance."

The Guardian say, "a first point in five games is scant consolation for West Ham's dominance of two-thirds of this encounter, as they paid dearly for their failure to build on Hayden Mullins' first-half strike."

The Independent felt West Ham 'dominated for almost the entire 90 minutes' but 'West Ham still drew. It felt like points dropped. Justice it was not.'

The Times felt that Sears was "outstanding not only in his striking role but in linking up the play as West Ham formed their familiar pleasing triangle shapes all over the pitch."
