West Ham to Develop East Stand

The BBC are reporting that West Ham have all but given up plans to build a new stadium. Problems with the Parcel Force site at West Ham and the ridiculous decision to destroy half the main stadium being built for the London Olympics has led to the board starting to favour a third plan.

The new plan is to develop the east stand and to build around the corners of the ground. This plan would increase the attendance to 50,000 and increase income by about £12 million. The cost of the new build would come to around £50 million.

The article also says that West Ham have had enquiries from potential buyers but nothing like an official offer and that the club is not for sale.
