Davenport Bust Up With Zola

According to The Daily Mail West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has said he will look to offload Calum Davenport in January. The paper claim Davenport reacted badly to being dropped today in favour of Collins.

The Mail include no direct quotes to back up their claim over Zola's comments.

The Mail also claim in today's paper that West Ham have turned down a £15 million bid from Man City for Bellamy and Parker.

Considering the O/S cited Davenport as an injury doubt before the game, and he was indeed injured today, then this story is nonsense. Almost as nonsensical as your jibe about the management opting to change a winning team, when all the changes were enforced due to injury, illness or suspension. If you'd done the research that you so often criticise journalists of not doing, then you'd have known this Keir.

Often your posts are just cheap little digs at everything associated with the club these days, I know a fair few who've stopped reading as your posts become more and more, shall I say, nonsensical. I wish you'd sort it out a bit, because this used to be an interesting and insightful blog, but I think you're (inadvertantly) ruining it.

The Mail did claim that Davenport was dropped to the bench yesterday, which I thought was a little strange - as he wasn't on the bench.

It has been hard not to be critical of the way the club has been run this season.

I try not to be too critical of the players or the manager. Which can be hard at times. Lately I've had a few digs at Carlton Cole.

Other than the manager and players I think anything else is fair game. And it would be hard to ignore what is going on behind the scenes at West Ham this season.

Kier

Good on you. Anon sounds a bit too trusting of the os version of things. We all have to remember that the Premiership is not about the beautiful game but how a few people can take advantage of believers in the beautiful game(fans)who are sucked in by the hype to be herded along to shops for overpriced shirts etc and to filthy bars for overpriced beer and coffee. When they can't make enough at that they will sell a player, Bellamy/Upson /Green or Parker easier to sell than the likes of Faubert or LBM who need to be sold. Nett result, look at Notts Forest/Leeds or Derby. Sorry too much Xmas sherry!!

Keep up the good work we need an independent point of focus for a good rant.

Fair point on the comment about changing a winning team.

My match reports are done very quickly. I aim to post within a few minutes after the final whistle. More accurate match reports are available a little later from the main media sites.

I thought about changing the bit about changing a winning team after I had posted. But didn't because I thought I would have been changing my opinion just because we ended up winning the game.
