West Ham Recall Tomkins

The BBC say that West Ham have recalled James Tomkins who was on loan to Derby. Sky claim that Tomkins was keen to stay at Derby and that the club were keen to keep him.

Sky go on to say that "Zola is keen to have as many bodies on board as possible heading into the New Year as he looks to maintain the club's top-flight status."

This seems to contradict the club's stated desire to reduce the size of the squad. Let's hope this isn't because of the imminent departure of any other West Ham defenders.
