West Ham Still in the Transfer Market
West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola insists that despite the financial difficulties faced by the club's owner West Ham will still be in the market for new players during the summer,
"We are looking for top-line players this summer. We are not big spenders, but we will spend our money wisely and work hard to make it happen.
"We are building up a good reputation among players because we try to play good football and there's a good atmosphere and that could be an attractive thing for good players to come here. I wouldn't be surprised to see a top player come and play for West Ham in the summer. There is a good platform here to build up something important for the future."
According to The Daily Mirror one of those players could be Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli. The paper claim that West Ham tried to sign the player in January but were sent packing. However Balotelli was the subject of racist chanting at the weekend and may now be fed up with Italian football.

Might be an element of truth in the Balotelli story. The Italian under 21's have been keen on him for a long time, just waiting for his citizenship to get sorted out so Zola will be well aware of him. As for the other tosh in one breath the papers say we have no money to spend then link us with a string of players, laughable.
