Ashton to Announce Retirement
The Daily Telegraph posted an article on its website today saying that Gianfranco Zola had dismissed suggestions that Dean Ashton's career is over. However within minutes they pulled the article and replaced it with one that says the player will announce his retirement later this week.
This news is also being reported widely elsewhere. The Telegraph article says that Ashton has been warned that he may end up being unable to walk properly if he continues to try and play football.

This was being said 6 weeks ago that if he tried to play he could end up not being able to walk properly ever again - I do hope it is just rumours but deep down I think we all know that it's over for poor old Dean - top player, sorely missed over the last 14 months. Gutted for him and us!!!
Wasn't it SWP who 'took him out' during a Training Match?
Wonder what his thoughts on the subject are?
