Fat Fines for McCarthy

Benni McCarthy has been told by David Sullivan that he faces being fined a week's wages if he fails to lose a kilo in the next week.

Sky say that in May his body fat was measured at 24.2%. After pre-season training he has trimmed that down to 16%. Sky say however that a healthy male athlete should measure between five and 12 per cent on the Body Mass Index.

The Daily Telegraph claim that Kieron Dyer has been through a course of painful, deep massage that may help him overcome his injury problems. They quote 'a source' as saying,

"It's been extremely painful but he's now in a situation where there is optimism that he will be injury-free this season. He might just be able to make a major contribution again."

The Star say that Radoslav Kovac is set to agree to a £2m move to Stoke.

The Sun say West Ham are lining up a £4 million bid for FC Twente midfielder Cheik Tiote.

The Mail claim that Man City striker Caicedo will travel down to London to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms over a season-long loan deal at Upton Park.
