Ferdinand Will Be Fit For New Season
Anton Ferdinand's injury in West Ham's 2-1 friendly defeat to Gothenburg meant the player was forced to return from Sweden to undergo a scan on his hamstring. Happily the scan has shown he has suffered only a minor strain and will be back in training within a fortnight.
West Ham's head physiotherapist, Steve Allen, said: "The injury is not as bad as we initially thought. Anton is now back at Chadwell Heath undergoing intensive physiotherapy, and we are looking forward to seeing him resume full training soon."
West Ham's first game is against Charlton at Upton Park on August 19.
