Shaka Leaves West Ham
West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has joined American club FC Dallas. Hislop says,
"This is an exciting new challenge for me. I went to school in the United States and have a lot of respect for soccer in the country I look forward to bringing my experience to a great organisation and help FC Dallas win championships in America."
The move means Hislop's final game in West Ham colours was the FA Cup final defeat on penalties against Liverpool. He then went to the World Cup in Germany where he worked wonders to keep Sweden at bay in a goalless draw before being beaten by two late goals against England.
With West Ham having qualified for European competition fans had been hoping that the club would be expanding the squad. So far this close season more players have left the squad than joined. This news on the same day that West Ham issued a statement trying to quash rumours of potential transfers is very worrying. The goalkeeping position also looks a little weak now. Whilst Carrol is an excellent keeper he is also prone to injury.
We wish Shaka all the best with his future.

So Bywater is our backup. I'm not sure i understand what the goalkeeper situation is.
Is Pardew planning on signing someone? Considering the amount of confidence that Pardew showed Bywater during our promotion season I just have to believe that he is planning something else.
You'd hope so. Carrol was a great signing last season, but that kind of injury has a habit of reoccurring and in fairness to Bywater he was found wanting a little against Championship strikers. Its one step forward and two back at the moment. I only hope when the world cup is over Pardew can focus on the squad not his newspaper column.
I think Jimmy Walker is still with us. There were rumours of him leaving a while back but I think he decided to stay. He is still listed on the official West Ham site as part of the squad.
