West Ham Do Not Have To Select Duo

One of the more ludicrous stories reported by the papers over the weekend was the report that Tevez and Mascherano's contract with West Ham included a clause that Pardew has to always select the pair. Despite the fact that this would be practically unimplementable I can't see any club agreeing to this.

Businessman Kia Joorabchian, who engineered the transfers of both players from Corinthians has confirmed the fabrication of this story. He told the Guardian, "There is no clause for them to play or not to play."

The media is also now trying to convince us that despite their claims last week that West Ham had beaten nearly every major club in Europe to the signing of the two Argentinians in fact none of them ever really wanted them. I think some serious spinning has been taking place by some British clubs trying to appease their fans.
