West Ham 2 Boro 0

Tevez! Tevez! Tevez! It's all Tevez.

The first half was dominated by Carlos Tevez. As early as the second minute Tevez's low cross from the right wing fell to Zamora six yards out and Zamora knocked the ball home with his left foot. In the 5th minute Tevez went on a 20 yard dribble into the penalty area, beating a couple of defenders on the way, but eventually ran into Xavier.

At the other end Boro were largely ineffective. Their first half was perhaps best summed up by a Viduka free-kick from the edge of the area, which was one of the worst free-kicks you're ever likely to see, flying high and wide.

West Ham on the other hand deserved their second goal, which came on the verge of half-time. McCartney swung in a cross from the left, the ball flew over Tevez's head but was kneed back into the six yard box by Taylor and Tevez side-footed the ball home from four yards.

In the second half neither side ever really looked threatening. The highlight of the half was another cameo by Tevez. In the 62nd minute the little Argentinian received the ball with Pogatetz all over his back. Pogatetz wrestled Tevez to the ground but Tevez managed to control the ball, get to his feet and then nutmeg Pogatetz. Pogatetz wrestled Tevez to the ground again and was booked for being made to look a mug.

West Ham on a winning run...
