Julien Faubert

Faubert is hardly the world class player that Eggy has been promising but this video shows he has got pace and can cross the ball. Unfortunately if we have signed Faubert we will probably be saying goodbye to Yossi.

Bio from UEFA.com

A strong, pacy and versatile player, Julien Faubert arrived at FC Girondins de Bordeaux as a right-back but was soon converted into a midfielder.

Club
Faubert was born in Le Havre but headed south in 1998 when he was offered a place at the AS Cannes youth academy, famous for nurturing such talents as Zinédine Zidane, Johan Micoud and Patrick Vieira. He made 45 appearances for Cannes before joining Bordeaux in 2004. A regular in his first two seasons, he was used mainly as a right winger by Bordeaux coach Ricardo during 2005/06 as they finished runners-up behind Olympique Lyonnais to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Faubert has a thunderous shot and scored five times in the league in 2005/06.

National team
Faubert was called up to the full France squad for the first time for a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina on 16 August 2006 and scored on his debut in a 2-1 win. It was just reward for a terrific summer that had seen him shine in France's run to the semi-finals of the UEFA Under-21 Championship in Portugal three months earlier.
