Neill Out for a Month

The Daily Mail have confirmed the rumours that started after yesterday's training session that Lucas Neill had suffered a serious injury. The Mail say Neill will be out for up to a month. However The Daily Mirror say it could be two months.

Neill went into a committed challenge in a practice exercise and went down in agony after the block tackle. According to The Daily Mirror he has suspected ankle ligament damage and West Ham fear he may be on the sidelines until October.

The paper also say West Ham have had a £2.5m bid for Derby's Giles Barnes rejected but are poised to test Derby's nerve by making an improved offer.
