Solano and Barnes Deal Likeliest

Whilst Eggert Magnusson has confirmed that West Ham are attempting to sign Gudjohnsen the best chance of completing a deal looks to be Giles Barnes and Nobby Solano. Gudjohnsen seems content with trying to fight for his place in Spain and despite rumours there is no deal already agreed between West Ham and Barcelona.

Curbishley yesterday claimed that there is a gap in West Ham and Derby's evaluation of Barnes. However differing evaluations of players often seem to converge as the close of the transfer window approaches and there is still hope that West Ham and Derby can come to terms on the young winger.

Solano has said that "the chances are 50-50" on his transfer to West Ham and that "everything depends on West Ham actually making an offer." So it seems that he is available if Curbishley wants him. On the other hand relations between West Ham and Newcastle appear a little strained at the moment and I'm sure Kieron Dyer's name will be thrown about in any negotiations over Solano.
