The People and The Guardian report on the sad death of Jeroen Boere yesterday. Boere played for West Ham from 1993-5 making 25 appearances and scoring 5 times.

Boere 39 was found dead in his house in Spain, where he worked as an estate agent.

The Star say that West Ham are rivalling Glasgow Rangers for Norwegian midfield starlet Thomas Kind Bendiksen. He plays for Harstad in Norway's second division and has been handed a trial at Ibrox.

The NoW claim Cardiff City left back Chris Gunter is another talented teenager being trailed. West Ham United have shown interest in the 18 year old.

Bluebirds boss Dave Jones believes that Gunter is as good as fellow Welshman Gareth Bale who joined S***s from Southampton for £10million.
