West Ham in the Sundays

The People are the first of the papers to print the rumour that West Ham have targeted former Liverpool assistant coach Paco Ayesteran to become the new technical director at Upton Park. There may be something in this - there were rumours that Ayesteran was at Upton Park last week, however I think he is on gardening leave from Liverpool and is unavailable until the end of the season. Ayesteran has fallen out with the Liverpool manager and lots of Liverpool fans feel that their team has not been the same since he left.

The Sunday Mirror say that West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is poised to bolster his striking options with Inter Milan's Brazilian Adriano in January.

The Telegraph report on Solano's coming out of international retirement for Peru this season. It means he is unavailable for West Ham games on the Saturday after, "It is impossible to play in Saturday games after internationals because the first flight I can catch from Peru is on Thursday night, which gets in the following afternoon. The Brazilians are all superstars and travel by private plane but we have to come on LANPeru." Luckily West Ham play Sp@~s on a Sunday after the next international break.
