Faubert Snubbed Lazio for West Ham

Julien Faubert has revealed that he turned down Lazio in favour of signing for West Ham and he denies it was for the money,

“My dream is to play in England,” he told L’Equipe. “West Ham are an historical club. Some said I left for money. But I would have earned the same at Lazio.

“England corresponds more to my qualities than Italy. It is about speed and involvement.”

Faubert's appearance for the reserves last night has improved his chances of appearing on the bench this Saturday but the French international hinted that first team football may still be a couple of games away,

“I have been waiting for five months so I can wait for a few more weeks.”
