Noble Not Named for England

Mark Noble has been left out of the England Under 21 squad to face Poland in a friendly at Molineux next week. This has sparked rumours that Noble may be named in the full England squad for the forthcoming friendly against France.

Pearce also left out Theo Walcott, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Aaron Lennon from his squad. When questioned about his omission of so many regulars Pearce remarked,

"You never know, there might be one or two names in Fabio's squad that make you sit up and listen."

If Noble is chosen for the senior squad (difficult to come up with any other genuine reason for him being left out of the under 21 s ) ,it starts to present a dilemma for Curbishley. He chosen to start Mullins ahead of Noble recently ,which will become harder to justify. Mullins makes a significant contribution to the team, but I think Noble s contribution is a bit more due to his creativity ,ability to take free kicks and corners, and his ability to score.

This may become typical of selection headaches that the manager faces as players gradually return to fitness. Apparently Cole was omitted from Blackburn due to a dead leg. So who plays up front, when u have Ashton showing signs of life, Sears making a great debut, Cole having had a rally solid season, and Zamora putting good balls into the box as he did last week? very difficult decisions. As critical as I ve been of Ashton, he s the only one I d say wud be a "must start" rite now, provided he continues to demonstrate the commitment he has in the last 2 fixtures. very difficult to determine who his partner shud be.

Or ,perhaps not away from home, but at Upton Park, does the manager try something relatively outrageous by his standards, and play 3 upfront ?
Still another possibility, when Sears came on, Zamora played a left midfield role, and looked ppretty comfortable there. We go from not being able to find a goal for love nor money, to now perhaps having some options that cud make life very difficult for our opponents.
