Shorey to West Ham
Reading have confirmed that long time West Ham target Nickey Shorey has been placed on the transfer list.
The irony for West Ham could be that now Shorey is available they might not have the money to buy him. It is believed that Aston Villa and Newcastle are both also interested in acquiring the full-back and probably have bigger war chests.
On a completely different tack it was nice to see Chelsea tonight finally reach their stated goal of becoming a global brand.
They are now hated in every country.
After John Terry created a ruck out of nothing which directly led to their top goal scorer being sent off - perhaps they will learn their lesson.
No, of course they won't.

fully agree regarding chelsea and terry in particular. he and that club represent everything that is wrong with football, and england football in particular. juatice was done in the end, even if chelsea improved in the second half.
the fact that drogba was slagging off his manager days before the event tells u all u need to know about that band of mercenaries . and for the player to get himself sent off ,thereby costing his club the trophy in all probability was the icing on the cake.
it was particularly embarrassing from a west ham perspective to see what has happened to joe cole. all game long all the guy did was moan at the referees. but that s what happens when u surround yourself with a bunch of spoiled brats who think that the world owes them a living. shame to see joe cole having lost a degree of humility and having become another overpaid whinger.

i hate to say it, but i lost what little respect i had for drogba last night. one is never suppose to rejoice at another's misfortune, but i screamed with glee when terry missed that penalty and didn't even feel a shred of sympathy when he cried. what a horrible bully!
eCould not have said it better.
the media keeps talikng of Terry having courage etc etc. Why? How. He played a game of football. Ok he was injured an got back quickly. Too right. Any footballer would want to to the same or should not be playing. Sure he would not have been so quick to be back for a 3rd round FA cup tie.
Andhe needs to take some responsibility for Drogba being sent off. He started it all and you know once the touch paper is lit Drogba will do something stupid.
As for COle, as an England Fan i wanted Cole and Rooney to show how good they are on the big stage. Cole ran loads, but did nothing. Where is the cole we used to know that took everyone on. He has so much natural ability, its a shame he just dives and moans.
Carrick was superb however. Good on him.
must confess, like dublin, i cudn t help but gloat when Terry missed it.
regarding the response on Carrick ,I agree that he showed massive character in putting the penalty away. I wasn t sure if he wud be able to do it under such extreme circumstances . It was one of the better taken spot kicks of the nite as well- keeper had absolutely no chance of stopping it.

i *can't comment at all* on cole and carrick.
imho, whether terry instigated the unbelievable scene that unfolded on that pitch for the world to see is irrelevant to what drogba did. it left me speechless and angry. furthermore, it just showed such a lack of respect for the referee. it was an "in your face" i have no respect for you and your authority moment. and why? did the opponent say something about his mother? his sister? his beloved pet goat?
malouda is a player that i usually love to see playing for the french team. last night, he was a diving, cheating, whining mess. the icing on the cake was one moment where a replay was made of his _non-interaction_ with the united defender but a moment in which he launched a spate of invectives at the opposition and screamed at the referee for not calling a foul. just ugly! i seriously cannot imagine what some of the players were thinking last night.
