West Ham Reserves 1 Arsenal R 0

An experienced West Ham Reserves side containing Mullins, Boa Morte, Sears and Collins beat a young Arsenal side by a single goal tonight.

The West Ham goal came in the 24th minute when Mullins switched the ball from the right wing to Lopez on the left, Lopez then crossed the ball beyond the far post where Stanilas ran onto the ball and smashed it low into the back of the net from about ten yards.

West Ham had a few chances after that in the first half to extend their lead. Sears forced a save from the keeper from nine yards out and Collinson came close from the edge of the box with a shot that missed just left.

West Ham had fewer chances in the second half but Stokes should have scored when put clean through in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately he shot weakly wide.
